BMW E38 coilover set – MTSGWBM21
Idea, design, prototype, implementation, positive signal from the market. This path is characteristic for the coilover suspensions we introduce to our offer. This was the case with the MTSGWBM21 set. Our engineers felt unsatisfied, however, and decided to introduce changes.
New components
In a way, the BMW E38 brings two worlds together. A huge, comfortable limousine. Brand flagship. On the other hand, a car with a very sporty character. And despite the size, it is still a typical BMW, very well suited to lowering. The existing coilover kit for this model has been modernized.
MTSGWBM21 coilover suspension
Our technicians focused on the rear axle, where a progressive spring is used. This solution facilitates assembly and improves the spring seating in the upper mounting. Its shape at the mounting point is in line with the factory spring. The introduction of a progressive spring for the rear axle strut has a positive effect on the suspension performance and improves the car’s handling. This is a very important factor in a long, RWD car. Thanks to this configuration, the E38 7 series on our suspension, despite its size, reacts very precisely to steering movements.
The rear spring has been replaced with a progressive one that fits the stock mount.
The front axle is a well-known solution based on an ERS springs made by Eibach. Here, in turn, its characteristics contribute to the proper holding of the car on the road, regardless of the weight of the engine used. And this one, as we know, in the E38 could even be available as a 12-cylinder option. The swaybar links we add are the complement to the whole set. Together with the dust covers and PUR foam bump stops for the struts of both axles, this makes the MTSGWBM21 kit ready for installation, without the need for additional components.

The MTSGWBM21 set highlights everything that characterizes the BMW E38. It gives pleasure in everyday use, while enhancing the dynamic features of the BMW flagship. For those for whom the latter is a priority, we have developed the MTSGWBM21-S set. The Sport series for this model allows the car to bring the car closer to the ground and will meet the expectations of the most demanding drivers with a sporty attitude.
